Your major gift will help us make a major difference now
If you believe in the conservation work of the HCA, then join the Foundation’s campaign to build a natural lands and cultural legacy for Hamilton and its residents – who just might be your employees, customers or children.
Conservation Lands Fund
In 2010, HCA adopted a strategy to secure the most environmentally significant lands in the Hamilton watershed through donation, acquisition or conservation easement. A major gift of money or securities will help the Foundation to build a reserve for conservation lands and enable the HCA to act quickly when landowners express a desire to sell or donate all or part of their property.
Adventures in Education
Over 10,000 children each year enjoy field studies in the Dundas Valley under the guidance of HCA Teacher-Naturalists. A one-time or multi-year corporate pledge helps ensure each child has at least one field trip during their elementary school days. Each year, the Foundation commits to raising 25 percent of the operating cost for this program. Help us meet and sustain our annual $55,000 goal. Corporate partners are recognized on site, in promotional literature and on this website. We encourage your employees to become ‘Eco-volunteers’ by joining the students in May and October during our Eco-Volunteer Weeks. Imagine the boss in hip-waders!
The Foundation is raising funds to develop a 1,346 hectare (3,325 acre) urban EcoPark anchored by the former Veldhuis property on King Street East in Dundas. The Dundas EcoPark will be part of a larger Cootes to Escarpment Park System stretching to Brant Street in Burlington. A major gift of money or securities will protect greenspace, increase opportunities for physical activity in our community and enhance Hamilton’s economic potential. For more details about the Dundas EcoPark please visit our campaign page.
