We are pleased to welcome Liv Simkins Bullock (they/them), the Foundation’s new Development Officer. Liv’s spent most of their career in watershed-focused nonprofits, whether working with volunteers, coordinating communications and marketing, or crafting fundraising appeals.
Liv spent a few years post-University doing GIS analysis with a degree in Environmental Geography, but quickly discovered their true passion lay in working with other people, not satellite images. Liv earned a Public Administration Master’s Degree in 2019 and hasn’t left the nonprofit sphere, since. Originally from Toledo, Ohio, Liv moved to Hamilton in 2023. Their passion for preserving and enriching Great Lakes watersheds remains consistent on both the southern and northern shores!
Outside of work, Liv is a neophyte birder and experienced wildflower enthusiast. (Plants stay still longer, so they’re easier to identify.) With their wife Emily, Liv enjoys camping, kayaking, and playing tabletop roleplaying games. With their cat Fergus, Liv enjoys lounging on the couch with a good book and a cup of coffee.
It feels great to give the perfect gift to a friend or family member; giving a gift to support local land and waterways can be just as satisfying and meaningful. In their new role, Liv is looking forward to connecting donors to the projects and initiatives they’re most passionate about, and to sharing stories of generosity.
Connect with Liv to discuss the Foundation’s fundraising priorities, memorial and tribute giving, or additional giving opportunities via obullock@conservatiohamilton.ca.
