Fundraising efforts continue for the restoration of Westfield Heritage Village’s locomotive #103. With this in mind, the Friends of Westfield have put together a one-of-a-kind train-themed fundraising event that is not to be missed!
On September 17, guests will be welcomed to hop aboard the Westfield Express, where they will enjoy dinner in the “Ironwood Dining Car,” while being immersed in the world’s largest private luxury tourist train with a viewing of the “Mighty Trains” episode featuring Canada’s own Rocky Mountaineer. This viewing, courtesy of Bell Media/Discovery, will take Westfield passengers on a journey through the Canadian Rockies, and give them an inside look at what it takes to create a memorable experience for guests on board the Rocky Mountaineer.
Passengers of the Westfield Express will then venture into Westfield Heritage Village where their boarding pass will grant them access to experiences not regularly available to the public, such as guided locomotive tours, behind-the-scene tours of Jerseyville Station, sending a message on the station’s operating telegraph system, and more!
Tickets to board this unique event are limited and will go on sale on August 26. Tickets cost $103 per person, in honour of the number of Westfield’s mighty locomotive, and a tax receipt will be issued for a portion of the cost.
