Ways you and your family can give
Protecting our natural environment is our collective responsibility. Contributions from individuals, foundations, corporations and volunteers help us to conserve and manage more than 10,000 acres of our watershed, protecting source water, wetlands, forests and trails. Your gifts also help us to provide environmental education programs for thousands of children and youth each year.
We offer giving programs to suit every situation. Each gift is an investment in our natural heritage, a legacy for future generations.
Make a cash donation. Donors are provided with a charitable receipt for income tax purposes. Cumulative gifts of $1000 or more are recognized annually on our Donor Wall and on this website.
Make a Tribute or Memorial Gift in honour of a special person or event. We will send a card to your honouree or their next of kin advising them of your thoughtful tribute. Learn more about Tribute Giving.
Donate your ecologically significant property. Donate all or part of your property now or through your will. You and your family can retain ownership while protecting natural features in perpetuity. Or donate your property and continue to enjoy or live on your land for a specified period or for the remainder of your life. The Ecological Gift Tax Program offers added incentives to make a gift of property. Contact us for more information.
Give a Gift of Securities. Donations of publicly listed securities are exempt from any capital gains tax. A gift of securities is one of the most tax-efficient ways to make a charitable gift. Contact us for more information.
Legacy Giving. Making a gift through your estate is a great way to leave a lasting legacy. You can designate a specified sum or portion of your estate, pension, retirement or life insurance policy benefits to the Foundation. Your professional advisors can help you determine which option suits your situation best.
Contribute to Endowment Funds. Endowment funds help to increase sustainable funding for HCA. You can contribute to endowment funds supporting Land Acquisition, Eramosa Karst Conservation Area, Environmental Education or Westfield Heritage Village. If there is a special place or program you wish to see supported for the long term, consider establishing or contributing to an endowment.
Give a Gift in Kind. The Foundation gratefully accepts gifts of goods and services that support projects, programs or events. The Foundation will issue charitable tax receipts in accordance with the Canada Revenue Agency guidelines.
