Executive Director Retirement

The Board of Directors for the Hamilton Conservation Foundation (Foundation) would like to congratulate Executive Director Grace Correia on her upcoming retirement.  While we will miss her and her unwavering support for the Foundation’s objectives, we know she will enjoy her much deserved retirement.

Grace has been the Foundation’s Executive Director for over 10 years and it is through her leadership and stewardship that the Foundation successfully raised almost $8 million for priority conservation projects for the Hamilton Conservation Authority.  Notable projects include:  completion of the Canal Park and EcoPark campaign (2017), Saltfleet Conservation Area (2023 and ongoing), Fifty Point new bridge (2016), and restoration of the Hermitage (2016).

Another notable project completed under Grace’s tenure was increasing the annual contribution for outdoor education from $55,000 to $125,000.  This remains the one consistent annual fundraising campaign for the Foundation as we believe that giving school children the ability to experience nature in their own city, regardless of income or ability to pay, is an important investment in future generations of supporters of conservation efforts.

The Foundation Board wishes Grace all the best in this next chapter of life!
