It is with mixed emotions that I write this note today to let you know that Toby Tresidder, Foundation Administrative Coordinator, will be leaving his position at Hamilton Conservation Foundation to pursue new opportunities with his family in Australia. His last day with the Foundation will be Friday, December 3rd.
Toby joined the Foundation as a summer student in May 2009 to assist with database work, moved into the Grants Officer position in 2011, and into his current position in 2012.
Many of you will have met Toby either at events or through phone calls. If not, you will have met him indirectly – he issues tax receipts and drafts thank-you letters to our donors behind the scenes; and is the writing talent behind most of the Foundation appeal letters, our Annual Report, and our monthly newsletters. I often rely on Toby to edit my own writing, which has made writing this piece that much more difficult for me as it didn’t seem right to ask him to edit it.
Toby has accumulated a wealth of knowledge about the Foundation and our supporters over his time here which was invaluable when I came on board in 2014. He may have been originally hired for his knowledge of our database at the time, but he has assisted the Foundation through the transition to a new Executive Director, new bylaws, a major campaign, conversions to two different databases, a website redesign, a move from quarterly to monthly e-newsletters, and all the challenges that a pandemic brought to the mix. Thank you, Toby, for your dedication to the work of the Foundation!
Please join me in sending best wishes and safe travels to Toby as he and his family embark on this new adventure!
