We endured the challenging cold and snow for the great reward of outdoor fun and fellowship of the inaugural Nature Crawl event entitled Spring into Life. This is the first of four event series scheduled for this year. Despite the cold windy weather we were able to engage with 29 supporters, donors and friends… and an additional 15 volunteers! We had some guided tours and saw some swallows, turtle nesting beds, and some unique plant life trying to make its way through the soil.
Thank you to Adventure Attic and Frog Pond Farm Winery for sponsoring the event with food and prizes. A special thank you goes to Amanda Fracz, Rhiannon Leshyk, , Erin Jaggard and Dan Stuart for nature presentations and interpretation and a deep appreciation for all the help of the other hard working volunteers like Sarah Watts, Barb Hoekstra, Margaret Reid, Krista Farley, Lea McCartney, Ron Pankratz, Sean Beaudette, and many others that endured the cold to make this event possible!
See you at the next event (Garlic Mustard Pesto Festival) June 15, 2013 in the Dundas Valley and remember to register in advance.
